Job Description

AAG is looking for an experienced Right of Way Agent local to North Carolina with an active real estate license. The Right of Way Agent plays a crucial role in facilitating the acquisition of land rights for various projects, ensuring compliance with legal standards and maintaining positive relationships with property owners. This position requires a blend of legal knowledge, customer service skills, and research capabilities to navigate the complexities of real estate law and title processing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Conduct thorough research on property titles and ownership to determine right of way requirements.
  • Engage with property owners to discuss project needs, negotiate terms, and address any concerns.
  • Prepare and review legal documents related to right of way acquisitions.
  • Assistance in all marketing endeavors of the firm.
  • Maintain accurate records of negotiations, agreements, and communications with stakeholders.
  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the acquisition process to ensure a smooth experience for property owners.
  • Stay updated on relevant real estate laws and regulations to ensure compliance in all transactions.

Qualification Requirements (minimum and preferred requirements): 

  • Must have 1-3+ years of Acquisition experience.
  • Must be local to North Carolina. 
  • Must have active North Carolina Real Estate license. 
  • Must be willing to obtain North Carolina Notary.
  • Must have North Carolina DOT experience. 

Skills and Experience: 

  • Acquisition negotiations, closing, condemnation, relocation assistance and property management in compliance to State and Federal guidelines, most notably 49 CFR Part 24, the Uniform Relocation Act (abbr.) on district wide transportation projects.
  • Experience in a law office environment is highly beneficial.
  • Timely and accurately maintain all required information in the Right of Way Management System (RWMS).
  • Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong research abilities to gather necessary information for property assessments.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
